Community Hospital-Fairfax’s Obstetrics Department is recognized by many in the community for its dedication to personal care for the entire family. Our compassionate, experienced nursing staff provide teaching and support for both parents and baby. Our care starts before delivery and carries on whenever you need us. Our obstetric RNs, Dina Johnson and Andrea Carder are available 24 hours a day by phone to answer any questions new parents have.

What We Can Do For You:

Quarterly Newsletter to our OB patients
Tours of the OB department on your request and at your convenience.
Post delivery home visits and/or phone calls
Expectant moms will be offered a DVD to check out called “About Childbirth.”
Other DVDs, “About Breastfeeding” and “About Newborn Care” are available to watch during your stay at Community Hospital-Fairfax.
One-on-one care with one or both of the OB RNs during labor and delivery.
A copy of “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is given to each mother upon discovering her pregnancy. The OB department gives these books to the family practice centers to give to patients.
A fully staffed newborn nusery, including a Night Nanny to help you get your rest during your baby’s fi rst days.
Three specialized OB rooms, each with a pull out bed for fathers or family members, are equipped with dvds, closet space and individual bathrooms and showers.
