CH-F 5K Fun Walk set for June 14
The Community Hospital-Fairfax Capital Campaign,
Investing in Our Healthy Future is close to reaching its $1.5 million goal.
On the last leg on the campaign’s journey, Community Hospital-Fairfax is inviting
everyone to join the “CH-F 5K Fun Walk” on Sunday, June 14, 2009. The funds raised
at the event will help the hospital race to the finish line of the Capital Campaign,
which supports the new facility’s emergency room.
This walk-a-thon will take place at the Fairfax track from
5:00 to 7:30 p.m., with registration starting at 5:00 p.m. and the walk kicking
off at 5:30 p.m. Participants pay a registration fee or collect pledges to complete
the 5K walk. Early registration is $15 and must be turned in by June 5 to the hospital’s
Development Office. Early registrants will receive a CH-F 5K Fun Walk t-shirt. Registration
at the event is $20 and includes a t-shirt while supplies last. Walkers with $20
or more in pledges register for free and also receive a t-shirt at the event, while
supplies last.
Pledge/registration forms were sent
home with school children May 6 and are also available online at
www.FairfaxMed.com, from CH-F employees, at the hospital
or at the Tarkio Avalanche, Atchison County Mail or Mound City News offices. The
forms can be turned in at the event.
This family-friendly event is a great time to get together
with friends, families or co-workers while raising money for our healthy future
for Community Hospital-Fairfax. Strollers are allowed at the track and we are making
dinner for the night, so bring the whole family! Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and
drinks will be available to purchase.
Participants will be split into two groups, ages 15 and under
and 16 and up. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place walkers in
both age groups who raise the most money. The first prize for the children’s group
is a bicycle and accessories, compliments of Community Hospital-Fairfax employees.
