CH-F Auxilians awarded at luncheon

Every year, the Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxilians contribute volunteer efforts and vital funds to the hospital.

To show appreciation for their hard work, members of the Auxiliary were honored at a luncheon at Community Hospital-Fairfax on July 17, 2008.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator Jennifer Danley presented the Auxilian of the Year Award to Marge Bennett, an original member and an asset to the organization. Bennett was nominated by her fellow member who said she “is a faithful worker” and “is dedicated to the Auxiliary.” She was honored with a bouquet of flowers and a plaque.

The ladies listened to a panel of breast cancer survivors tell their personal stories about their triumphs. Pam Koch, Lori Smith and Liz Jones shared their inspirational experiences with the Auxiliary and answered questions.

Auxilian members received candles as a thank you from Community Hospital-Fairfax for their dedication in providing fundraising efforts and volunteer time.

In the past year, the Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxilians raised funds that provided the hospital with a Doppler System, sleep study supplies, an isolate transport cart for newborns and a pediatric cart for the emergency room.

“The Auxiliary has done wonderful things for us,” Dina Johnson, RN, said.
