“The 89 Club” stays close
Pictured above: Wilbur
Wright, Junior Hawkins, Dorothy Davis and Wayne Bradfield, also known at Community
Hospital-Fairfax as “The 89 Club.” This group of Fairfax citizens were patients
at the same time at the hospital and visited each other every day during their stays.
Since they grew up together and are all 89-years- old, they gave themselves the
fitting name, which caught on with their nurses because they were always together.
If they couldn’t be found in their own rooms, the nurses knew they would find them
together, talking and watch television to keep each other company.
